That's funny, we used to do character interviews in our games. Ask five questions, IC and they had to be answered IC.

Since you actually DM the two online games I'm in, and since the only tabletop game you've even told me anything about was the one you DMed, I guess I'll ask about Arcana, since I know enough about it to ask a question and understand the answer. So far, I've been asking questions of two PCs for each player, but due to limited selection, I will just ask Haruko one that will require a fairly detailed answer.

For Haruko: In what order would you rank Kyon, Satoshi, and Kaede (and Hell, throw in Katie and Taki if you want) as romantic prospects for yourself? Please include explanations for the rankings.

This should prove amusing.

Well, nothing against them, but this group isn't really my typical dating material. That's even ignoring the fact that many of them are seeing someone and most also have a thing for Katie. This is off the record, right?

Anyways:
1) Kyon. He still scares me sometimes, particularly when he uses his powers, and he isn't really a nice guy except for a few people. On the other hand he's got a top of the line motorcycle and knows how to use it, not to mention handsome. In addition, he's quite effective and is willing to acknowledge me and treat me with some respect, which counts for a lot coming from him. And did I mention his motorcycle?

2) Satoshi. He'd rank higher but he's sort of afraid of speed, and to a lesser degree, and he is getting better at this, afraid of me.
::Haruko twirls her hair a bit:: He also doesn't strongly disapproves of some of my, choices, let's say. I mean so do the rest, but for him to say something critical you know he really means it. I think dating him would be quite pleasant, but ultimately boring.

Now I'll include the girls with the stipulation that I'm not actually attracted to females. I don't have a problem with it, though Taki's crush on Katie will likely come to no good end. So for everyone below this point consider it on the wouldn't date but ranked anyways. It'd be like trying to choose between horses as my primary vehicle, I could if I had to but the appeal isn't really there.

3) Taki. So, she's dating Satoshi and hopefully slowly getting over being in love with Katie, but we'll ignore that for a moment. Her power is rather useful, she's can be quite loyal and would be willing to do a fair amount of fun stuff. Trouble is she's bad about standing up for herself and has never really been willing to confide in me, that may change but neither of these are fun traits in a mate. Moreover she's far far too much of a romantic and things would go rather painfully if we broke up I'm sure.

4) Katie. I rather admire her strength, assertiveness, and intelligence, but she also can be crueler than Kyon. Maybe her willingness to be mean is a necessary trait for us to really get through this and I'm alright with it in a friend, but I don't want to date someone possessing it. Also beating off her legions of devotes would be rather tiresome. And ::twirls hair again with hand:: I'm not really looking to date a crazy person.

5) Kaede. Even if he was out of debt, even if he learned to be sociable and deal with girls, even if he got over whatever trauma is presently haunting him, even if he dropped the kid stuff and started working on motorcycles instead, even though he's male, he's dead last. He hurts me with his comments more than Katie and Kyon or even not Katie ever had, and he probably doesn't even think he's trying to be cruel. He may be willing to accept misery as a state of being but I'm not, that seems to make me a bad person in his mind, and maybe I do go to far at times, but our views on life just aren't compatible. On top of all this he thinks relationships are just a rather inefficient way to produce children?! Well, if he were the last man on earth I'd try to get the rather functional breeding out of the way ASAP and go off and raise the kid to fight for survival in a post apocalyptic world.
