Judgement is inescapable. Everytime you make a decision, you are judging something to be better than something else. The important distinction, which is often understood (or misunderstood, as the case may be) rather than explicitly stated, is between critical judgement and sympathetic (wc?) judgement. If you are being "judgemental," it's critical judgement you're using, and it breaks people down, often to make yourself feel better. Sympathetic judgement serves to aid another to improve in areas that will serve them, where they themselves likely desire outside assistance. English translations (and all languages really) of the Bible (and every thought) suffer from an inexactitude that creates misunderstanding and harmful presumptions. But, let me burn my soapbox du jour.
