Finally watched the end of Utena, and remembered why I liked that series so much. Shame it took me more than four years. Think I'll buy the DVDs at some point.

One of the things I like about Utena is that it has an ending, that has a reasonable amount of coherence.

How much are the DVD's, anyway?

Ep 1-6 and 7-13 on DVD: $39.99 last I checked. I got them for $20 from the CPM booth at Anime Central, though. Be warned, the quality's pretty awful; it's more or less "We put the VHS on DVD! Isn't it awesome?"

The rest are all the standard single DVD price of $29.99 (or lower depending on where you shop). The Black Rose Saga box is $90. The Black Rose+ discs are actually pretty decent, and a hell of a lot better than the Seitokai arc discs are. The tradeoff is, of course, fewer eps per disc, and a higher price.

Black Rose box is 14-26, so it actually has the first two eps of the Apocalypse arc on it too. A worthy deal if you've got money to throw around.
