Aug. 28th, 2007 10:02 pmSo, Senate Republicans are calling for investigations of Sen. Larry Craig apparent bathroom trolling.
How exactly would that sort of investigation work? I welcome suggestions from my readers.
I'm guessing it will be like the Don't Ask-Don't Tell investigations. They'll just ask if he's ever participated in community theater or that sort of thing.
Matt Yglesias also links to a few blogs on the legality of Sen. Craig's alleged actions. There doesn't really seem to be any there there. It's creepy, but nothing illegal. I wonder if the police do a fair amount of these investigations because they know people will be too afraid of embarrassment to fight the charges.
Regardless, the irony is still amusing. I should probably have a bit more empathy for a clear case of police abuse, even given his persecution of gays, but then he tried to pull rank to escape it.
