Ipod hunting

Anyone looking to sell off an older Ipod while getting a new one or the like? I'm considering trying for one around Christmas time, but considering the degree to which my parents a bankrolling my presently unemployed Grad student status (stupid Silver Spring Borders apparently isn't hiring for December. Or at least not hiring me) I figured I'd check for less expensive options.

Addendum: Is buying an Ipod on Ebay, particularly a refurb, a good idea? I haven't really used it for hardware before so I have no clue. Obviously would only use a good reputation seller.
