I have to admit the camping part drove me insane. At times I was literally screaming "Rowling, you megalomaniac! Why didn't you let an editor touch this bloated mess!". I appreciate that it was realistic, because I've gone through exactly the same frustrations with false starts and red herrings in Lucasarts adventure games and RPG tabletop games. But there's a world of difference between being able to tolerate that in an interactive context and a non-interactive context. It was like everything that made The DaVinci Code annoying multiplied by 10.
